PURPOSE:To control the rate of toner supply accurately by providing a means which emits a signal when there is no toner, a magnetic field generating member which shuts off a toner supply path magnetically, and a fixing member which moves a movable member in the direction moving apart from said supply path. CONSTITUTION:While there is a prescribed amt. of a toner 7 in a toner tank 1, the switch 10 of a sensor 10 is off and therefore no electricity is conducted to a magnetic coil 14, and a supply pipe 2a is magnetically shut off by the magnetic field from permanent magnets 18, 18', thus no toner is supplied to the tank 1. When the amt. of the toner 7 becomes short, the switch is turned on and a movable iron core 15 moves in the direction C, then the magnets move apart from the pipe 2a, and the toner is supplied. When the amt. of the toner 7 attains a prescribed amt., the switch goes off, and the electtic current to the coil 14 is shut off, whereby the iron core 15 is moved in the direction D and the supply pipe is magnetically shut off. |
