PURPOSE:To improve storage stability and adhesiveness of toner, color reproducibility, and printing resistance in offset printing, and to form a high quality image, by using a specified cross-linked terpolymer as a binder. CONSTITUTION:(a) A monomer represented by the formulaI, (b) one of compounds represented by the formulae II, III, IV, and (c) one selected from a group of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, its anhydride, an unsaturated nitrogen compound, an unsaturated compound containing a glycidyl group, and a lower alkyl(meth)acrylate are polymerized under heating in a solvent, when needed, in presence of silica or waxes. After the polymerization the polymer dispersion liquid and a colorant are mixed to give a concentrated toner. In the formulae, R, R1 are H or methyl; A is -COOCnH2n+1 or -OCOCnH2n+1 (n=6-20); and R2-4 are a divalent aliphatic, alicyclic, or aromatic residue. |
