<p>The pump has an outer casing (1) with a suction branch (2) and a discharge branch (3). Two membranes (A,B) form three compartments (4-6). The membranes have open grilles (12,12B) to allow the flow of fluid. Hinged non-return flaps (16) are provided to cover the flow grilles. The membranes are reciprocated by a drive motor (19). During the pumping stroke two compartments increase in volume and fluid is induced into the lower compartment (4), the flap (16) being closed. Fluid in the third compartment is transferred to the upper compartment (5). During the return stroke the membranes are separated and fluid transfers from one compartment (4) to the third compartment and is also discharged from the pump.</p> |
