A percolating surface water gully comprises a gully body (1) recessed in a magazine (8) of drainable material such as asphalt. The diameter of the gully body is less than that of the magazine diameter and it is equipped with an overflow (3a). The entire magazine (8) is surrounded with a water-permeable screen (10, 11, 12) which prevents intrusion of sand and other materials into the magazine from the gully body (1) or surrounding ground. The lateral area and the bottom of the gully are perforated (2). The overflow is made of a pipe (3a) extending vertically into the gully, the upper mouth of which can be closed with a lid (5) which can also be raised open when the water level in the gully body (1) reaches a pre-determined level.<IMAGE> |
