Process for treating soils with a cysticide

A chemical which has cysticidal properties is selected and diluted forming a cysticidal agent, and the latter is mixed with a medium employed for soil treatment, for example a fertiliser, insecticide or herbicide. The preferred cysticidal chemical is cetylpyridinium chloride. If the medium is solid, the cysticidal chemical can be adsorbed onto a carrier and then incorporated by mixing. The process allows the infection chain caused by human amebiasis to be interrupted outside the human body.
