This invention provides the innovation that, as well as the brake lights which are already commercially available, additional hazard flashing light systems or travel direction indicators are attached in the rear window of motor vehicles. These additional hazard flashing lights and travel direction indicators are connected to the upper brake lights (on the rear window) with a supplementary cable. As a result it is ensured that the traffic travelling behind can detect promptly, and above all earlier than previously, the changed direction of the vehicle in front. Also, when there is a risk that the conventional flashing lights which are attached at a low point on the vehicle may become soiled, it is ensured that the flashing lights attached to the interior of the rear window can be clearly seen by the traffic travelling behind and perceived so that as a result a considerable reduction in the risk of accidents can be achieved.
