PURPOSE:To form tapered faces on the inner and outer circumference of an anode cylinder simultaneously and to simplify process of manufacture by rounding a flat plate blank and compressing using a die having a tapered part after ironing. CONSTITUTION:A primary work 21 descends fitted to the outer periphry of a punch 51 and ironed at a ironing die part 61. One of two open ends is restrained by the stopper 57 of the punch 51 and another is restrained between the outer peripheral end 66 of a die and knockout 64 and subjected to compressive force in axial direction. This compressive force makes the work cause plastic flowage that fills up the clearance of the joint. Accordingly, whole joint of both the ends of the blank is stuck fast surely. Both open ends are formed to desired shape and a tapered face on the outer perphery is formed simultaneously. Further, spring back force can also be controlled. |
