Plastics bag has stiffening strip sealed at mouth - to keep mouth open as bag is emptied

A plastics bag has a plastic strip or band (12) extending all around and continuously sealed to the bag along at least one line, pref. two lines, to stiffen its periphery. The stiffening band may be either inside or outside the bag, pref. near its mouth, and may be formed by folding over the rim of the bag and sealing it onto the wall. This arrangement enables the mouth to be left open and remain comparatively stiff as the bag is emptied from time to time, thus making it easy to obtain access to the bag on a future occasion. The bag is suitable for granular etc. materials.
