A heating arrangement (1) and storage containers (3, 4) are provided in a heating installation for water heating. Connected downstream of the heating arrangement is an intermediate accumulator, by which the water from the heating arrangement is guided in a circuit. The water in each case situated in the intermediate accumulator is, after corresponding heating, supplied in batches to the storage containers (3, 4) by a circulating pump (14) which can be switched on by a control device. After each batchwise supply, the connection pipes (10, 11) to the storage containers (3, 4) are interrupted by switching off the circulating pump (14) and the water in the intermediate accumulator (2) is for the time being heated from the heating arrangement again. <IMAGE>
