PURPOSE:To improve the durability of the floating bush, which supports the turbine side of the shaft to the intermediate casing, by installing an oil reserve chamber in the middle of the oil supply passage and thereby checking temperature rise at the above bush. CONSTITUTION:The supercharger has a shaft 2 supported to an intermediate casings by way of a floating bush 5; the shaft is provided with a turbine 3 which is driven by means of exhaust gas from the engine, and a blower used to compress atmospheric air and send it into the combustion chamber of the engine. An oil supply passage 7 is made through the intermediate casing 1 to supply lubricating oil to the floating bush 5, and at the midway of this oil supply passage 7, an oil reserve chamber 8 is provided where lubricating oil is stored during normal operation, so that, even at the time of operation stoppage, oil can be supplied to the floating bush 5. Consequently, the floating bush 5 can be cooled even when the engine suddenly stops and oil supply discontinued. |
