PURPOSE:To manufacture honeycomb structures exactly in specified shape by machining honeycomb by wire-cut spark erosion technique without damaging open honeycomb core and then placing skin material on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The honeycomb core 1 is made of a aluminum, etc., and rather weak in strength. However, it can be machined in exact shape without damaging open cores on the surface of machining by applying the wire-cut spark erosion technique. By subsequently covering the surface of honeycomb core 1 with skin material of GFPR, etc., applying adhesive, a honeycomb structure with strong surface is obtained. Thus, the honeycomb core of rather fragile surface can be processed exactly in desired shape by the use of the wire-cut spark erosion machine. |
