PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance by mixing carbon black and silicon oxide uniformly with a base material of polyolefin series plastics used for electrodes of a metal-bromine battery. CONSTITUTION:A battery jar is partitioned with a separator which is free of positive ion exchange, a positive electrode plate is placed in one section and a negative electrode plate in the other section, and an electrolyte is fed in circulation to each section to make a metal-bromine battery operational. The electrodes of this battery are made of a base material of mainly polyolefin series plastics, e.g., polyethylene or polypropylene. Carbon black and silicon oxide powder are added and mixed uniformly with this base material during the formation. It is suitabel to added 20-45 units, by weight, of carbon black and 3-20 units of silicon oxide powder to 100 units, by weight, of the base material. |
