A manually operated pump for small hand-held dispensers such as are used for perfumes, medical products or household products has tamper- proofing means which prevent premature use on the shelves of the shop but still allow the necessary manufacturing checks to be carried out. The pump is of a kind in which the piston passes into a decompression zone allowing venting at the bottom of the compression stroke and the tamper-proofing means comprise a tear-off strip (8) which allows travel of the piston (2), but not far enough to reach this zone (5). <IMAGE> |
