An adjustable outside rear view mirror of a vehicle having a piece of mirror glass mounted in a casing on a mirror support, the casing being connected to the fastening base in such a way that it can be pivoted about at least one axis with respect to the fastening base when a predetermined torque is exceeded, the mirror support being mounted on the fastening base without play in order to suppress vibrations of the mirror glass and being pivotable with respect to the fastening base about an axis which is parallel to the axis or axes about which the casing is pivotable with respect to the fastening base, and furthermore a drive type fastening, which exhibits play, being present between the casing and the mirror support. The mirror support and the fastening base are preferably made of metal, while the casing is made of plastic. |
