PURPOSE:To enhance the work efficiency of the manufacture of a fluorescent lamp by placing almost U-shaped sealed bodies one upon another, placing and sticking both an exhaust pipe and ?-shaped conductors to which filaments are attached between the said sealed bodies, and after that, cutting the protruding ends of the conductors and attaching a protection cap to the exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION:Two of almost U-shaped sealed bodies 1 made of glass are opposed and unified. After two of almost ?-shaped conductors 2', to which filaments which are not indicated in the figure are attached by caulking or the like, are placed between the sealed bodies 1, the conductors 2' and an exhaust pipe 3 are integrated with the sealed bodies by use of frit glass. Next, impure gases existing in the sealed body are exhausted through the exhaust pipe 3, and the sealed body is charged with appropriate amounts of mercury and argon gas before the pipe 3 is chipped off. After that, protruding ends 2a of the conductors 2' are cut, and the exhaust pipe 3 sealed is covered with a protection cap 5 before the cap 5 is stuck to the pipe 3 with an adhesive 6. |
