A cooking stove of simplified construction specifically designed for ease of assembly from a kit of pre-fabricated parts with the minimum use of tools or skill, comprising an oven section arranged to sit upon a free-standing heating unit (13). The oven section comprises a front panel (1), back panel (2) and side panels (4), held together by tie rods (5). The top of the oven is closed by a plate (10).
