PURPOSE:To obtain beautiful cast billet surface by coating under surface of overhang in refractory-made molten metal basin by solid lubricating agent. CONSTITUTION:In the refractory-made molten metal basin 4 arranging the overhang 5 from an inner face of mold at the upper part of forced water cooling mold for a gas pressurizing type hot top casting apparatus, the under face part overhanged to inner side from the internal wall face of mold is coated by the solid lubricating agent of at least one kind or more among molibdenum disulfide, boron nitride and graphite. In this way, detaching of molten metal at the overhang part is improved and the oxide or the other inclusion is smoothly detached from the outermost peripheral surface of molten metal, and so the development of locally build-up oxide, etc., is prevented. |
