<p>PURPOSE:To permit printing with doubled speeds by a printer wherein a glass substrate equipped with two common electrodes is disposed to cross and face another glass substrate equipped with a plurality of signal electrodes and those two common electrodes are alternatively operated in a time sharing manner. CONSTITUTION:In a liquid crystal light valve (liquid crystal shutter cell) used in a signal modulation light irradiating system for a printer wherein a light signal is irradiated on a light substance and this is developped with tonors so as to obtain picture informations, for instance, a substrate equipped with two common electrodes 401, 402 is disposed to cross and face another substrate equipped with a plurality (4 lines in the illustration) of signal electrodes 403, 404.... A printing signal is alternatively applied to the common electrodes 401, 402 with time sharing of 1/2 thereby to operate them by turns.</p> |
