PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned typewriter whose constitution is simple and which is capable of high-speed motion by a method wherein the movement of a drum in the lateral direction is made by a guide holding the drum at both ends thereof with the like and the rotating motion of the drum is made by an auxiliary shaft positioned apart from the center of the drum. CONSTITUTION:The rotating power of a motor 14 is transmitted by wire 13 for sliding to the guide 3 fixed to the wire 13 and the guide 3 makes the printing drum 2 slide by the rotatable rollers 4 projected from both ends thereof and holding the drum between. Meanwhile, the rotating power of a motor 9 is transmitted to a gear 8 for rotating the drum, and when the gear 8 is rotated, the rotating power is transmitted to the auxiliary shafts 6 and 7 and thereby the drum 2 is rotated. It is advisable that two or more auxiliary shafts are employed, since mechanical fatigue is liable to be caused with increased load when one auxiliary shaft is employed. |
