PURPOSE:To easily vary the setting of a click tone by providing a varying means which rewrites data on the tone of a storage means with key data generated by a key with switch means. CONSTITUTION:A control means 11 scan a key pad array 2 successively through a drive line DL and checks a response regarding whether or not any key switch is pressed through a sense line SL at the same time. Where there is a response indicating the depression of specific scanning timing, the control means 11 generates a key code according to the scanning information. When a specific key switch on the key pad 2 is pressed while a tact switch 7b is pressed, the setting of the clink tone can be varied. Namely, the control means 11 stores a key code in a code register 15 while the tact switch 7 is turned on and also rewrites the generated key code into an invalid code forcibly at the same time on condition that the tact switch 7 is on.
