O.Z. 0050/033158 3-Alkyl-5-(2-hydroxy-styryl)-isoxazoles of the general formula (1) (1) where R is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and processes for their preparation. The novel compounds of the formula(1) are valuable intermediates for the synthesis of drugs; in particular, alkylamino-hydroxypropyl-ethers of these intermediates can be used for the treatment of hypertonia, of coronary diseases of the heart and of cardiac arrhythmias.
