PURPOSE:To read an image of an original with high resolution even when the original is in an extremely small size, by providing an image reader, which has a reflecting member between a lens and its imaging surface, with a light-shielding part at the contact projection of two reflecting surface of the reflecting member. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting member 13 has reflecting surfaces 12 and 12' constituting a right-angled mirror between projection lenses 9 and an imaging surface formed by a light source 7 for a moving microfilm 6, a condenser lens 8, and the projection lenses 9, and an image projected on the member 13 is therefore divided. The divided images are read by CCD line sensors 14 and 14' of photoelectric converting elements provided independently. The right-angled part of the contact projection part of the reflecting surfaces 12 and 12' is applied with paint A with low reflectivity, thus constituting a light-shielding part. Consequently, no halation occurs at the right-angled part and an image of even an extremely sall original like a microfilm is read with high quality. |
