PURPOSE:To enable the automation of a clinker handling system to be accelerated in a movable fire grate coal boiler having a water-dipped clinker hopper or clinker pit by providing a rough crusher for clinkers at suitable positions. CONSTITUTION:A roll type rough crusher 3 is provided at a position suitably far from the falling point 1a of clinkers 9 caried by a fire grate 1 moved by a driving shaft 2. This crusher 3 consists of two rolls 3a, 3b which are at a different level and both of them are provided with projecting crusher elements 3c. In this manner fine clinkers 9 and ashes 9' on the fire grate 1 are passed without stopping between an end 1a of the fire grate 1 and the crusher 3, while a little larger clinkers are crushed between the end 1a and the roll 3a of the crusher 3 and plate-like clinkers 11 of larger size are crushed by the crusher elements 3c between the rolls 3a, 3b into roughly crushed clinkers 12, which are made to fall in a water tank 4. |
