PURPOSE:To achieve secure remote control over the picture display device of a television receiver, by providing relatively wide directivity by arranging a diffusion plate at part of an infrared-ray incidence path. CONSTITUTION:Infrared rays incident to an infrared-ray passing filter 7 from a relatively narrow range in the direction of a center line (c) provides the receivable range A of relatively narrow characteristics. Infrared rays incident to the filter 7 from left and right wide ranges at distance from the center line (c) are diffused by the prism projection parts of a diffusion plate 9 to reach a detector 6, so a relatively wide specified receivable range B is obtained. Therefore, remote control operation is achieved even when an infrared-ray transmitter 4' is close to the front surface of a picture display screen. |
