TUBULAR ZINC-HALOGEN CELL

PURPOSE:To prevent the production of the dendorite due to the uniform electric deposition, by inserting a hollow porous harogen electrode into a cylindrical hollow section of a zinc electrode and assembling into the tubular structure. CONSTITUTION:The central section of a tubular graphite block having fine composition is bored to produce a cylindrical hollow section 2 to form a zinc electrode/bus bar. Said hollow sections 2 are provided in the circumferential direction with same interval, while at one circumferential end face a chroline electrode 3 made of porous graphite is planted radially at the intermediate position of each hollow section 2 and an unit block of an integrated tubular bipole electrode is formed by said zinc electrode 1 and the chlorine electrode 3. The electrolyte is fed and exhausted from a double tube having an inner tube or an electrolyte supply tube 4 and an outer tube or an electrolyte exhaust tube 5 through a branch supply tube 4' and a branch exhaust tube 5' to the chlorine 3.
