PURPOSE:To reduce the number of coal feeders used on board coal-fueled ships by providing a feeder movable under hoppers. CONSTITUTION:When moving a feeder 4 by a truck 5, truck-locking device 32 is removed from the 5, an expansion joint 12 from an air sealing valve 15, an expansion joint 28 of a branch pipe 17 from a coal discharge port 14b, an air hose 20 from a casing 14, and a cable 24 is disconnected from an alarm and power supply unit 22 mounted on the casing 14. Thereafter the feeder 4 is moved by the truck 5 into a position approximately right under a hopper 3, where the truck 5 is brought to standstill by means of a brake or a truck locking device 32. When a specified amount of coal has been delivered into the feeder from a hopper 3, the feeder 4 is again moved into the position under the next hopper 3. |
