PURPOSE:To easily form a highly accurate spherical electrode at the tip of a wire by a method wherein a discharge electrode, consisting of the metal having a melting point higher than the wire, is arranged in the extending direction of the wire, and a short-circuit discharge is generated between the discharge electrode and the wire. CONSTITUTION:The wire 1 is protrudedly supported by a supporting metal 3. The discharge electrode 2, consisting of the metal havng a higher melting point than the wire such as, for exampl, Mo, W, Ti and the like, is arranged in the extending direction of the wire. When voltage is applied between the wire 1 and the discharge electrode 2 and a short-circuit discharge is generated, a spherical electrode 4 is formed at the tip of the wire. Through these procedures, the measurements and the shape of the spherical electrode can be controlled easily and accurately. |
