<p>Stirrer for liq. in agricultural spraying tank. In the tank is an inlet valve on the end of a pipe leading to a pump. The pump delivery pipe ends in a horizontal pipe located near the base of the tank and contg. a row of outlet holes. The flow of liq. through the outlet holes agitates the liq. in the tank. The valve is actuated by a ball floating on the surface of the liq. in the tank, so that the vol. of liq. recirculated by the pump can be decreased in proportion to the drop in height of the liq. in the tank. The pump is pref. driven at a constant speed either by a tractor carrying the tank, or by an auxiliary motor. The liq. in the tank must be stirred to ensure that the sprayed liq. has a uniform compsn. But when the level of the liq. in the tank is low, excessive agitation can form a foam or emulsion, which is undesirable. The invention restricts the circulation of the liq. when the level of the latter is low.</p> |
