The machine comprises a transverse horizontal rotor (1) mounted on a large section drive shaft (2). The rotor is made up of a series of thin discs (3) to the peripheries of which are mounted working tools. The tools are alternately long and short with the long tools (5) carrying, along their free edges, an extension (7) pointing in the direction of rotation of the rotor. The shorter tools (4) are thin plates fixed alternately on opposite sides of the carrier disc and bent away from the disc. The longer discs cut vertically into the soil and the shorter discs cut horizontally.
