<p>The support jack (14) is supported on the ground by a plate (16) fixed to the end of the jack shaft (17). The jack body is fixed to a sleeve (24) welded across the tow hitch shaft (9). The shaft is retracted when the trailer (1) is mobile and when the trailer is at rest, it extends from the jack body by an adjustable amount for levelling the trailer. For very heavy trailer loads, two parallel jacks are used, working on a common base plate and fixed one at each side of the trailer tow hitch shaft.</p> |
