PURPOSE:To reduce the variance of the loss for multicore connection and to increase the workability of connection, by attaching a fixing tool to fix in an array the bare fiber parts to the terminal of a multicore coptical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A multicore optical fiber 4 having bare fiber parts 5 is put on a multistreak V groove 7 with the roots of the fiber parts 5 positioned with a certain space. Then the fiber 4 is held between a pressure plate 9 and a substrate 8 to be fixed there with an adhesive. Then the parts 5 are cut collectively. These parts 5 are fixed to another fixing tool on another multistreak V groove having the same space as the groove 7 to be butted and connected together. In such way, the connecting work is facilitated, and at the same time the variance of the connection loss can be reduced owing to the collective adhesion of the end faces of the fiber parts. |
