PURPOSE:To assure the quick selection of the desired record contents at the area near the edge part of the contents, by switching a reproducer to the reproduction mode of the opposite direction when the edge part of the disk record contents is detected in the high-speed reading mode of a video disk. CONSTITUTION:The initiation information and the termination information are previously recorded at the initiation and termination parts of the record contents for a video disk 3. When the fast forward (F/F) key is turned on, a control device 19 decides this turn-on and stores the operation mode secured before the F/F key is turned on to switch a repdoducer to the fast forward mode. After this, the device 19 decides the presence or absence of a program end signal 18a supplied from a lead-in/program end detecting circuit 18 as well as a limit signal given from a limit switch 21. In case both signals do not exist, the device19 is switched to the original mode by a mode recall program. If either one of these signals exists, a video disk reproducer is switched to the normal reproduction mode of the opposite direction. Then the reproduction mode is kept when the F/F key is turned on; while the original mode is maintained when the F/F key is turned off respectively. |
