PURPOSE:To detect the position in a groove, to move a block mounted with a detector to the center of the groove and to move the block for a welding torch to the center of the groove by means of the attachment of the block in automatic welding with the welding torch in a square groove. CONSTITUTION: A block 8 provided with a position detector at the leading end is disposed in a square groove 1, and the position of the block is detected with a detector, by the signal whereof a motor 6 is run freely forward and backward. The block 8 is moved to the center of the groove 1 by the revolution of the feed screw of a shaft couplied directly to the shaft of the motor 6. A block 20 for a welding torch is mounted freely slidably to a guide bar installed in parallel with the shaft 7, and an attachment 18 provided to the leading end of the block 8 is pressurized and engaged in the guide groove 21 of the block 20. The block 8 moves to the center of the groove, and the block 20 for torch also moves automatically to the center of the groove, thus the welding torch moves to the center of the groove automatically at all times. |
