PURPOSE:To improve the life of a mold and to decrease the original unit of the mold by decreasing the wall thickness in the corner angle parts of the mold within the range expressed by the specific equations in accordance with the flattening ratio of the mold. CONSTITUTION:In a mold used for ingot making of molten metal, the wall thickness (tc) in the corner angle parts of the mold is decreased within the range of 0.91T>tc>0.55T when 1.0 flattening ratio, 0.91T>tc>0.75T when 1.5 flattening ratio, and 0.98T>tc>0.9T when 2.0 flattening ratio in accordance with the flattening ratio (length of long sides/length of short side) of the mold. Here, T= 1/2 (wall thickness of long sides + wall thickness of short sides). |
