The high and ultra-high tension alternating current transmission line has three separate phases and a single neutral supported so that uniform electric field exists between the conductor group, permitting a higher transmission voltage to be obtained without the risk of voltage breakover. Each phase (1,2,3) comprises a distributed array of parallel connected conductors. One possible configuration is to mount each phase group concentric with the others, with the phase conductors distributed round different dia. circular formers (5).
