The soundproofing, two-shell element has a design and means which are effective from the low-frequency to the high-frequency range and during impact sound transmissions, and prevent the shells, which have possibly been coated, from bending. The element advantageously comprises a solid frame (1) on which are fixed shells (2), each consisting of a shell part (2') and of a weighting part (2") which has the same surface area as the shell part and is partially interconnected therewith at the edge and in the central region, and webs (6), which are fixedly connected to one of the shell parts (2') only along the longitudinal side, being situated in a cavity (9) in the shells. <IMAGE>
