A series of two-part trusses is used. They are arch-shaped and interconnected via a ridge and side purlins (21,22). They may up a load-bearing framework covered by a roof skin, in a multi-purpose tent-shaped hanger-type structure. During erection, trusses (20), hinged (26) together at the ridges (25) and fixed at one end, are raised from a three-point mounting in their ridge area to beyond their neutral setting. The trusses are then moved with their movable ends onto their fixed ends, until both parts of each are cantilever-supported in the ridge. Lengths of roof material are drawn into interfacing guideways in paired trusses, pulled across the frame (10), on cables, and arrested at truss ends.
