The single-row ball-bearing transmits both radial and thrust loads, having one-piece inner and outer races and a cage holding the balls at set intervals apart. Each race (4,6) has a higher (16,18) and a lower (14,20) supporting shoulder, the higher ones being offset from each other. The pressure angle (a) of the balls at the higher shoulders is between 25 and 40 deg., preferably 35 deg., and that (B) at the lower ones between 15 and 25 deg., preferably 20 deg. The external dia. (D1,D2) of the inner race shoulders the internal dia. of the outer race ones (d1,d2) and if necessary the ball dia. are such that balls (8) equal in number to those in a comparable radial-load bearing can be fitted.
