The vehicle disc brake, esp. for motor vehicles, has a first shoe actuated directly by a brake cylinder, and a second one indirectly, via a calliper sliding axially in a stationary bracket. A first spring thrusts or pulls the shoes apart when not in use, while a second one thrusts or pulls the second shoe further from the bracket. A locking mechanism automatically clamps the calliper to the bracket when the brake is off, immediately the second shoe has lifted clear of the disc under the action of the second spring.
|
