Low current conductor for motor vehicles - has poly-aramid fibres inserted into spaces between stranded copper wire core

The conductor cable (1) for motor vehicle electric system has at least one copper wire and consists of several, stranded individual wires, or wire cores, and an extruded insulation (9). In the intermediate spaces, due to stranding of the copper wire (2) are fitted high-strength plastic films (3-8) made of polyaramid. Preferably six individual wires (2a,2f) are stranded round a centre wire (2g). The resulting six intermediate spacers contain each a plastics fibre. The cross section of the copper wire is 0.1-0.5 sq.mm. the insulation wall thickness is 0.2-0.5mm and the cable outer diameter is 0.8-2.0mm. In this manner a cable of low weight, small diameter and high electric strength is provided.
