The invention relates to a heat-sealable composite film produced by bonding 1) an oriented polyolefin film having a primer layer applied to one of its surfaces as an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic solution, and having a layer of priming agent applied to its other surface in a similar manner, the latter layer being covered by a further layer of a vinyl, vinylidene or acrylic polymer or copolymer, to 2) a non-oriented film based on a polyolefin, preferably comprising polyethylene, polypropylene, propylene-ethylene copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ionic polymer or mixtures thereof. The two films are bonded by combining one surface of the film 2) with the surface of the film 1) which has been treated only with the priming agent.
