Missile with bars forming payload - has body destroyed by gas pressure securing bars between plate and base

The missile has inside the casing a number of bars extending in the axial direction and fitting one inside the other at their adjacent ends, forming the payload. The bars (15) are secured between a base fixed in the rear end of the casing (2) and a plate (6) in the front of the latter by a filler body (16) destroyed by gas pressure, and which locates them in the axial direction. The gas pressure source can be arranged to act on the plate, pulling the casing off in the forward direction and also acting via ports in the plate on the body so as to destroy it.
