<p>The vat dyeing of cotton warp yarns in sheet form comprises passage through a dye bath, with removal of excess dye liquor, passage through air and/or thermal treatment; this series of phases is repeated several times. A single dyebath, nip device and air passage are used, and the sheet of warps is looped several times to repeat the treatments before washing and rinsing. A relatively small volume of dyebath liquor is required to provide a very uniform and intense colour effect throughout the warp sheet, with possible adjustment of shade. The dyeing appts. is simple and compact. Easy control of the chemical balance and concn. of the dyebath is practical over a wide range of shades.</p> |
