A boxing glove has internal padding which is constituted by a preformed body (40) of resilient material such as rubber or a foamed polymeric material. The body is formed with a flat portion (42) to protect the wrist of the wearer's hand and a curved section (44) extending around the wearer's hand when made into a fist.
