The clamp has a pair of mutually parallel guided and shiftable wedge-shaped clamping jaw, mounted in a housing. The jaws are pressed against the rope, or cable, by spring stress. In order to release the jaws (1,2) from the clamping position, an eccentric (3) is fitted for engaging and action upon at least one jaw. The clamp is not only for wires and ropes, exposed to relatively low tensile forces, but also for such cables and ropes which are under heavy tensile forces. The design is flexible and enables rapid release of the jaws. In addition the clamp can be applied in any arbitrary position. |
