A solenoid for a magnetic valve has a magnet frame to create a magnetic circuit around a coil, which frame is produced by bending a magnet frame plate. The magnet frame plate has an eddy-current suppression slot, as a result of which the construction of the magnet frame is simplified, the electrical power is utilised more effectively and the magnetic reluctance is reduced. In addition, production is cheap and a large electro-magnetic force is achieved while saving energy and with low magnetic losses.
