PURPOSE:To assure the stable ink jetting positively and make it possible to perform the ink jet recording with high quality at a high speed by providing a detachable ink sucking body on the surface of the cap facing the ink jetting hole. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording, a head attaching plate 217 is moved in the direction of an arrow shown in the Figure by the action of a motor 201 and its control mechanism 202, and stopped at a position (recording position of the heads) specified by an alternate long and short dash line. At this time, the cap 209 is pushed by the attaching plate 217, rotated in the direction of an arrow in the Figure with a supporting shaft 211 as a center, and pushed down to the position shown by the alternate long and short dash line. A roller 212 plays a role of pushing the cap 209 smoothly. When the heads 214 have stopped the recording operation, the attaching plate 217 is moved back to the specified position. At this time, the cap 209 is being contacted with the roller 212 and smoothly returned to the original position by the contracting force of a spring 210. Then all the heads 214 face the porous bodies 215 and are capped. |
