The connection between supporting members for mine galleries enables members in a main gallery to be connected to members in the side gallery which is at an angle to the main gallery. The member (5) in the main gallery can be an I beam, with two lugs (9) welded to its web (7), extending horizontally so as to carry a member (16) which can swing about a vertical axis (10). This member has a hole through it, for a second pin (25) forming a horizontal axis about which a support (2,4) in the branch gallery can swing. The swinging member (16) is made from plate, with two parts (17,18) shaped to form the vertical hinge axis. This plate is also fitted between two spaced apart lugs on the end of the support, through which the horizontal pin passes. The horizontal lugs (9) have rectangular locating grooves (10) around the edges to engage the vertical edges (20) of the plate.
