METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HIGH PRECISION SLUGS

An improved process for manufg. high precision metal slugs by cold forging is disclosed. At first a cylindrical specimen is inserted into dies concavely shaped in side face, forged and so barrel type product is earned by this performing process. Secondly this barrel type slug is pressed perpendicularly by upsetting process and completely finished by ironing process. In spite of coarse cutting faces of cylindrical specimens high precision slugs could be manufactured and durability of dies was improved surprisingly.
