[Also in Division B8] The accelerating mechanism which feeds bags to a carrier in the packaging machine of the parent Specification is modified in the present Specification so that its speed is adjustable. In the embodiment shown the adjustment is provided by a pulley 350 whose effective diameter can be varied by moving a sheave 362, Fig. 2, towards or away from a fixed sheave 361 by a screw 363. The pulley 350, driven from the main drive 58, Fig. 1, of the machine drives a V-belt 355, which via a gear-box 358 and gears 174-176 drives the accelerating mechanism 164.</p> |
